This on-line resource is an extremely useful tool, as it contains many different elements.  One may listen to the way all any word in the Spanish Dictionary is pronounced!

Verbuga is very useful as you may look at thousands of verbs in Spanish and the way you would conjugate those verbs in the different tenses you will teach your class.

I have found Apples4theteacher.com to be a very helpful resource in teaching elementary students.  There are many ideas for making lessons more interesting, colouring pages and other helpful resources for use in the classroom.

Say it in Spanish! is a wonderful classroom resource encouraging teachers to teach through activity.  This is one of the best ways for a new language to become more concrete in children's minds.


Lomba, A. & Summerville, M. (2004) Play & learn spanish. New York, NY: McGraw-Hill.

Children relate to play, this book and CD combo contains over 50 fun songs and games and invites you to teach children Spanish in the same way as a parent would teach a child his first language - by using it in everyday speech surrounding familiar themes.  A great way for children to learn. 


Smith, N. (2004) Let's sing and learn in spanish. New York, NY: McGraw-Hill.

Children love to sing and they remember lyrics to songs quite readily.  This book and CD combo offers a collection of lively songs for children to sing along with and learn new Spanish vocabulary!

This book is a very helpful resource for the new teacher - offering insight on what to expect during your first year of teaching in  an elementary classroom and beyond.
