EDU 500: Teaching in the Cayman Islands: Dr. Mark Minott

The objective of this course was to provide an overview of various aspects of teaching in the Cayman Islands. In a week-long series of lectures, we  learned about the history of education and the education system in Cayman, the beginnings of education in the Cayman Islands and setbacks or opportunities that were based on an individual's socio-economic status, teacher professionalism, reflective teaching,l development), and the responsibilities of the Department of Education Services and ESAU.

This course was very interesting as we followed why we are where we are today in terms of private and public education. Here you will find a research paper that I completed for the course.  Of particular importance is how we were encouraged to be reflective thinkers as well.  Here is an assignment on reflection which I completed.
